Professional Design Engineer

◼️ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪️Primary responsibility is to utilize knowledge of engineering, steel building structures, steel fabrication, construction, metal building products and ACI design standards to provide the most cost and design effective engineering service to meet customer requirements. Responsible for the complete design of a metal building system package and provide all necessary and associated construction documents such as engineering calculations. Responsible for timely design revisions and drafting/detailing support. Responsible to meet schedule for release of original designs, revisions and requests for information. Provides support to resolve customer service and field issues. Duties may also include assisting estimating with building weights and framing concepts.

◼️SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage assigned design projects through effective communication and documentation throughout the production of shop drawings, erection drawings, and ultimately into final fabrication and supports customer services to resolve any field issues, if required.

▪️Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a focus in Structural Design.
▪️Licensed Professional Engineer in one or more states or jurisdictions.
▪️Working knowledge and understanding of current building codes and standard industry practices.

◼️EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

▪️Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering is required.
▪️Previous experience in the metal building industry. Proficiency with MBS is preferred.

◼️LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must have excellent mathematical skills.

◼️REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to reason logically in the performance of routine and non- routine duties.

◼️CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Registration as a Professional Engineer in one or more states.
